its been a while... I know... call it a blogging dry zone or whatever you wish...
So my dear Vox friend (who has since moved to blogspot) had a giveaway in June and I won! :D
So here’s what I got :
1) a cute note… love the teeth LT!
an overview shot…
2 ) Liners
please note the black pen (middle right). I forgot to take a close up of it. :(
It was the Revlon Colorstay liner in blackest black. Its basically a felt tip pen liner. I was able to get both a super thin line and a thicker one rather easily.
Haven’t tried it on my eyes yet but will definitely get around to it :)
next was the Rimmel Exaggerate waterproof eye definer in purple shock. This is a red toned purple which I’m kinda iffy about trying on my eyes (I prefer cool tones). But I will and I will take pics too.
Its got a smudger tool at the end of it which is pretty soft when tested on my hand. Waiting to see what it will do on my eyes.
a sparkly liquid eyeliner by Dot Dot
wondering if I should try using this on top of #3.
3) Lauress Revital-Eyes eye primer
the question is whether it will take the place of my beloved Monistat. :P stay tuned….
4) Eyeshadows
Revlon cream shadows – if I’m not wrong they’re from the Illuminance range and this is Precious Metals.
EDM’s eyeshadows in OASIS and COOKIE SHEET
Lauress’ Gem liner in Wicked
the left most swatch is…
5) Blush
Sonia Kashuk’s Beautifying Blush in Flamingo
6) last but not least…. another soap for me to try… don’t have to buy soaps for a while at the rate I’m going :)
this one smells rather nice although I don’t normally go for food scents. And Goat’s Milk should make a rather moisturizing bathtime :)
Thanks LT for all the goodies and apologies for the delay in getting this posted!! *hugs*
So when Heather had that lovely sampler off recently, I just had to get it. So I plowed through her site, came up with a list of e/shadows that I just had to have and plunked down US$30.
The haul arrived… and here is the sampler set she sent. It was kinda disappointing as several of the e/shadows already have homes with me. I guess you’ll see them in future raoks or competitions (I’m thinking up a silly one).
30 pc sampler :
Cashmere Kiss – enlighten me, Blush and glow, cashmere stockings lvl 2, shards of glass, kaleidoscope sun glow, zest of one lemon
first class con, without wonder blush, finish it, personal best blush, moonlight whimsy, burned by the light
art of noise, morning dew, broken rules, convicted, copy cat queen, demon chatter
cashmere sun, free of history … err… forgot to take pics of these :P
I will get around to swatching these… I promise :P
Some time in May, makeupstash had a Mother’s Day competition. Well, I didn’t join it but my good girlfriend did. And she won! I was really happy for her.
Here is a list of her prizes :
Mummy will win:
- Ivoluxe Lipstick in Sensual
- D36 Cheek Colour in Entice
- D27 Eyeshadow in Suede (a gorgeous shimmery, flashing lime green with a touch of taupe!)
- Highbrow in Cocoa
Mummy's Girl will win:
- Ultragloss in Pop
- Cheek Blush in Dolly
- Metallogy Eyeshadow in Champagne
- Undercover Concealer
She came by for lunch on her birthday… and gave me a prezzie. She told me she thought they would suit me better than her. Thanks dearie!
I’ve used Inuovi’s blush gel before and liked it (my pre-mmu days) so I’m pretty excited to have these lovelies to try out. I’ve never had a concealer before… yes, I refused to fork out $$ to get something I didn’t think I really needed. BUT I’m so glad I have one to try out now. The brow pencil will be fun to try. I’m just worried its a little too light. But we’ll see. The blush is sooo pretty and will be good for travelling. The lipstick has a hint of purple, its not a pure pink. Lovely lovely :)
And here before you ask for it are some lovely swatches… I won’t insult you by telling you which is which. *big grin*
Watch out for some Inouvi fotds… akan datang! LOL
running a SilkNaturals spree... if you're interested, please place your orders with me before thursday 10pm.
thanks!
As promised in this post, here’s the goodies I hauled from the workshop…
A lovely black and white makeup pouch that has a mirror attached.
Maybelline’s new Unstoppable mascara. Its got a nice, easy to use brush that does extend my lashes while giving them extra volume. Not as much volume as my other Maybelline mascara – Volum’ Express Turbo Boost - but good enough. What I may do is layer the two. :)
A lovely blush in Peach Sweety… I’ve used this twice again and really do like the color. Sad part is that it doesn’t seem to last as long on my face as my SilkNatural’s blushes do.
Am about to sign up and pay for two more workshops in August… still looking for my cheque book. Can you imagine in this day and age still asking for cheques? sigh… me thinks some companies need to be updated a little more.
Dropped by Watson’s today to pick up my copy of GLOW (Watson’s inhouse magazine). I won’t bore you with more pictures of it and the freebie pouch… there're enough of those floating around. :P
I must say though that the magazine is an interesting read. Picked up a few more pointers about skin care and makeup. Will elaborate more on that another post.
What caught my eye in Watsons was this new product on the SilkyGirl shelf. Remember I was raving about their liners a while ago?
So here it is… SilkyGirl’s Magic BB cream.
Given the current craze for blemish balms or BB creams as they’re known, it isn’t too surprising that yet another one has appeared on the market. What is nice is that this is a drugstore brand with a relatively low price point. Low enough for me to consider trying it. Its introductory price is a mere $15.90sgd/$10usd
Swatched it on my hand to test out the texture and coverage. Here are the two shades – 01 Natural on top and 02 Radiant on the bottom.
01 fit my skin tone better than 02. I’m not sure how much you can see in this swatch after they’re blended out. In terms of coverage… not much but they were easy to blend and didn’t have a powdery feel to them afterwards. In fact, they left my hand feeling rather soft.
I like that they have a sunscreen factor to them. It appeared to be chemical based though but didn’t have the anti-mmu ingredient. Totally forgot to take note of the ingredients. Sigh. Will try add that on later.
I just bought a suncreen infused product so I doubt I’ll be splurging on this until that’s used up. Anyone else think they’ll give this BB cream a try?
Heya, all you Singaporean lovelies :)
there are three easy to join competitions for Watson’s products. These range from skincare to makeup items.
so go have a look here and here and here. All three ladies are fun to read and have interesting takes on the makeup world and their experiences in it.
have fun! and let me know if you win something :P

Ardell either demure or 110s.. I think…
went to bed last nite knowing that Farrah Fawcett had passed on. Woke up this morning to find MJ had done the same.
Two people that don’t know I exist but who I’ve been aware of and at some points crazy about.
Kinda reminds me that I’m really approaching that time in life where my icons will be moving on. I’ve already had good friends and relatives go.
Must must must remember to spend as much time as I can with those I love around me so I *don’t* regret not making the effort when the time comes.
*dang* this is hitting home today…
oh so true :) read more
