This is done especially for Ann… who is currently filling up my order with more ‘wants’. LOL!

The swatches are done w a ‘heavy’ finger tip.. too lazy to go get my brushes… and the photos really don’t do justice to how pretty and subtle these glows are.

on the right is SN splendid perfecting glow.

Splendid is our clone of Bare Escentual's Flawless Radience All Over Face Color.  It's a creamy white tone with just a hint of golden pearl.  It gives the most gorgeous flawless, luminous, dewy finish.  There is some glow to it, but on this one it's really not over the top- just dust a little on your cheeks, chin and forehead for a youthful dewy look.

my description – erm… it looks silvery whitish to me but just a nice silvery glow when brushed lightly on… particularly good for the inner corners of the eyes :)

on the left is SN crystal perfecting glow.

Pefecting Glows are a cross between our regular Perfecting Powder and a Glow- they're very closely related to Bare Escentual's Radiance powders and give your skin a nice healthy look.  There is a good amount of silica in it which is going to help control oil, and hide pores.  Crystal is our clone to BE's Clear Radiance- BUT without the chunks of gold glitter.  It does have a slightly irridescent golden pink sheen, and looks gorgeous on light skin tones.  You could use this all over your face, or just to highlight- it applies easily with just a regular kabuki brush.

my description – more of a pinkish glow. love layering this on top of blushes or as a light brow highlight.

Personally I like both… very subtle ‘glow’ when applied with a big face brush… love using them as a brow highlight as well especially when I’m doing more everyday/neutral looks. Also adds a little something special if layered on top of blush/eye shadow.

I’ve used Inuovi’s blush gel before and liked it (my pre-mmu days) so I’m pretty excited to have these lovelies to try out. I’ve never had a concealer before… yes, I refused to fork out $$ to get something I didn’t think I really needed. BUT I’m so glad I have one to try out now. The brow pencil will be fun to try. I’m just worried its a little too light. But we’ll see. The blush is sooo pretty and will be good for travelling. The lipstick has a hint of purple, its not a pure pink. Lovely lovely :)

And here before you ask for it are some lovely swatches… I won’t insult you by telling you which is which. *big grin*

ok… here’s a sad story… I wrote down all the names of the various e/s on a piece of paper… and that piece of paper has gone totally awol soon after I posted the earlier swatches… so… I’m left basically not really knowing what color goes with what swatch… and I’ve no time or energy to go through the whole lot again.

so Ann tells me to just go ahead and post the pics… so here they are…

I’ve posted this now four times… photobucket’s slide show eats up anything I have got to say after it… so I’m gonna say what I wanna say one last time here…

ok ok vent over… relax… deep breath…

my impressions of NYX e/s are that they are less pigmented than my normal mineral eye shadow. I had to swipe my brush over the e/s quite a few times to get the color intensity you see in the swatches. (ooo.. forgot to say that I used monistat as a base for all of them). In comparision to a Japanese brand like Marjolica, the texture wasn’t as soft and blendable… but I think that’s true of most brands when you compare them to japanese formulations.

Thinking a little more, I feel that using a darker, creamier base may make them work better and I will be trying that theory out sometime.

hope these swatches didn’t aggravate you too much cos of they’re lack of names… the colors are pretty.

I haven’t actually checked my mailbox for a couple of days. Reason? well, besides bills, I wasn’t expecting anything.

so when I checked it on Thursday… boy was I surprised!

First up was an envelope with a US address… hmm… I didn’t order anything recently… then I read the name… Dayna… which made me go, “but I still haven’t bought anything from her (not that I don’t want anything… *grin*).”

I was so excited I was trying to open the envelope while juggling three kids and two huge bags. Needless to say, I wasn’t successful. My curiousity was only assuaged when I got my hands on a pair of scissors and snipped away.

First thing I pulled out was this lovely note.

Dayna, you’re an angel for thinking of me. I gotta say that I was really just bowled over with glee. Not only did you give me NYX Jumbo eye pencils that I wanted – Milk, Slate and Purple!!!! *Frond runs around madly* but you also threw in L’oreal HIP color cream crayons in Intricate (blue) and Meticulous (brown).

Then the icing on the cake… my very first full size MAC product… *screams in excitment* A shadestick in SilverBleu… a pretty icy blue.

I’m already thinking up various ways to use all the pretty colors… am wondering if I can come up with a cream shadow only look… it’d be my first. :P

My impressions :

SS SilverBleu – a pretty pretty sparkly light blue. rather creamy and pigmented

L’oreal HIP crayons – texture wise it felt harder and more waxy. it sunk into my pores/skin lines rather than sat on top like the others do.

NYX Purple – I am in love. I love love purple and I love this purple. sigh… nothing more to say

NYX slate – I understand now what everyone loves about this color. Its a dark bluey grey… fabulous color. Less dramatic than blackbean but totally usable I think. I’m looking forward to trying it as a liner as well as crease color.

NYX milk – I’ve got high hopes for this. I thot cottage cheese would help me with highlighting and stuff but it was way too frosty. This was matte and so so so so white. It just pops off my hand, its that bright! can’t wait to try it on my inner corner, as a liner, as a highlight… :D

NYX yoghurt – this is a duplicate and will go to someone else I think. But I love this color. its my neutral shade. the one I go to when i can’t be bothered to think of what color I should use. Its a pinky/peachy kinda shade (you can tell that I’m a horrid color describer!)

The other big envelope I found in my mailbox was filled with this…

a new pair of crocs

I’ve used them once and they are comfy. Am happy with them :)

and last but not least… I wore this old pair of sandals on Wednesday and my OPI Ink painted toes just popped out at me. They looked so pretty that I couldn’t resist taking a quick picture.

Hot Chocolate & Bronze lippies

impressions :

hot chocolate was a mlbb shade for me. Could hardly tell it was on. Gave an added gleam and shine to my lips.

bronze is totally a wrong shade for me. looked way too orange I think. not used to it at all. will probably pass this one on.

in terms of texture and usage… I guess I’m not used to using a lip brush (another skill I haven’t learnt) so I think I ended up putting on too much. Resulting in gloppy lips which I didn’t really like (don’t like feeling lipstick on my lips). Will retry the Hot Chocolate again and see if I can’t do better the 2nd time.

loved these shades Lisa chose for me. All of them are pretty and totally usable.

and on my trip to Watson’s, I picked up SilkyGirl’s Funky Eyeliner Pencil in pure purple (what other color would I have chosen?). Again, this is a recommendation from Mag. It cost me SGD6.30/USD4 after a 20% discount and comes in a pretty wide range of colors.

I like the pigmentation of this… one swipe and you see color on bare skin. its smudgeable immediately after you apply but sets to become really hard to take off with just soap and water. (had to wash my hand three times and rub hard!)

haven’t tried it on my eyes yet… can’t wait to see what results I’ll get.

what was the most annoying part of this purchase was that the plastic wrapping was almost impossible to take off. Even using a pair of scissors… finally gave up trying to get it off the cap.

but while I was trying… I managed to knock the pencil off the table, resulting in the broken nib you see in the swatch photos. *cry* the lead is seriously soft!
